AI for Sales
Know who to approach first, and stop losing deals in the follow-up.
Sales teams lose deals in two places: choosing who to approach, and the gap between a lead arriving and someone replying.
AI for Sales is for sales leaders, sales managers and business owners. You use AI to fill in missing company details and decide who to approach first. Then you map your sales process by waiting time, design where an AI agent hands work back to a person, and choose the first number you’ll watch each week.
What you’ll learn
- Prioritize your list
- Use AI to fill in missing company details, then decide who to approach first.
- Find the leaks
- The work is rarely the problem. The queue is: the after-hours lead, the reply planned for later, the buyer nobody came back to.
- Map your sales process
- Every step from first message to won or lost, with the longest wait marked.
- Set the handoff rules
- The agent remembers, the human decides. One owner per task, handoffs with context, and a visible record of what the agent did.
- Design the daily brief
- What a rep should see at 9am: three lines and one number, short enough for a phone screen.
- Track what matters
- Response time, follow-up rate and leads forgotten. Pick one and take the baseline this week.
What you’ll do
- Answer the opening questionWork out how many leads your team did not follow up last week, or admit you don’t know.
- Enrich a sample listUse AI to fill in missing company details, check the results, and rank who to approach first.
- Name your longest queueFind where deals sit waiting, such as after-hours leads or buyers nobody came back to.
- Map your sales processPut each step on a sticky note, from first message to won or lost. Put a red dot on the longest wait.
- Design the handoffUse four rules to decide what the AI agent does, when a person takes over, and who owns each task.
- Write your daily briefWrite what a rep should see at 9am: three lines and one number, no longer than a phone screen.
- Choose your numberPick response time, follow-up rate or leads forgotten, and plan to take the baseline this week.
- Make your commitmentRead one sentence aloud about what you will change.
What you’ll leave with
- A simple way to enrich your list and rank who to approach first
- A sales process map with the longest wait marked
- A handoff plan showing what AI does and what people do
- A daily brief template you can use
- One number to track, ready for a baseline this week
- A one-sentence commitment
A real use case
Researching companies to decide who to approach first
A sales list in Google Sheets had 29 companies, but the Address, Industry, Country and City columns were empty. Without those details, it was hard to decide who to approach first.
- Share the sheetThe Google Sheet is shared with an AI assistant.
- Ask in plain EnglishThe request is simple: “Enrich this company data.”
- AI checks the sheetIt finds the 29 companies in rows 2 to 30 and sees which columns are empty.
- AI researches each companyIt searches the web for the missing details.
- The team sets the priorityPeople check the details and decide who to approach first.
The agent does the research. The human decides.

Questions
All questionsWhat does SDR do?
SDR is a learning consulting company. We help companies adopt AI, starting with training. When you’re ready, we can also work alongside your team to build what you need.
Why start with training?
AI adoption depends on people, not software. Training helps your team see what AI can do for them and try it on their own work. That is what turns a tool into a new way of working.
Will AI replace our sales team?
That isn’t the aim. The agent remembers, the human decides. AI keeps track of the details, so your people can spend more time building relationships with buyers.
Do we need an AI tool already?
No. You design how the work should run first. We don’t demo or sell a product in the session.
Does this work for our industry?
Yes. It works for any industry with a sales team, because you work on your own sales process.
Can SDR help us implement what we learn?
Yes. Through Embedded AI Engineering we design, build, integrate, test and deploy with your team, subject to scope and technical requirements.
How do we get started?
Tell us your goals, your team’s experience and the challenges you want to address. We’ll suggest the right program or mix of services.
